This session held alongside the Annual African science granting councils was organised by the African centre for Technology studies (ACTS), Africa Research and DFID, through the East Africa Research Hub in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania on 11th November, 2019. The session themed; Investing in Research and innovation in Africa for sustainable development: emerging evidence and policy opportunities.
The two days session discussed the emerging evidence and policy opportunities that exist for investing in research and innovation. The session brought in 60 participants from both the global North and South. The participants had different expertise in research and academia, policy makers, key government stakeholders, sector specialists to discuss current patterns, trends and investment in research and innovation and engage further on opportunity and options available.
