The Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN) is a premier research-impact platform comprising over 200 researchers and policymakers with national focal points across 36 African countries. Job Summary:
ARIN is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead its gender and development programs. The role focuses on advancing research and promoting gender equity and social inclusion in sustainable development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on gender dynamics in health, climate resilience, agriculture, and other development areas.
- Analyze intersections of gender with other social categories to inform equitable policy design.
- Evaluate the gendered impacts of programs and recommend inclusive strategies.
- Design and implement projects that promote gender equity.
- Develop resources, write grant proposals, and secure funding for gender-focused initiatives.
- Publish high-quality research and provide actionable insights for policymakers.
- Facilitate workshops and capacity-building activities on gender equity and inclusion.
Qualifications and Skills:
- PhD in Gender Studies, Sociology, Development Economics, or related fields.
- Strong publication record in gender and international development research.
- Expertise in gender analysis frameworks and global frameworks like SDG 5, CEDAW, and the Beijing Platform for Action.
- Proven experience in policy engagement, capacity building, and partnership development.
- Familiarity with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and Gender Policy (2019).
