Job Summary:

ARIN is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Climate Finance to provide strategic and technical leadership in advancing research and policy on climate finance mechanisms. The successful candidate will contribute to evidence-based policy-making, capacity building, and innovative financing solutions for climate-resilient development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct advanced research on climate finance landscapes, mechanisms, and investment strategies.
2. Develop qualitative and quantitative tools to evaluate climate finance effectiveness and equity.
3. Explore ways to mobilize public and private capital for climate adaptation and mitigation.
4. Provide technical advice and evidence-based recommendations to governments and stakeholders on climate finance dynamics.
5. Lead national and international dialogues on scaling up climate adaptation and mitigation financing.
6. Collaborate with governments and private sector partners to design innovative financing models.
7. Monitor climate finance disbursements and develop frameworks for assessing their impact.
8. Design and implement capacity-building initiatives for stakeholders on climate finance.
9. Publish high-quality research outputs, including journal articles, policy briefs, and reports.
10. Support ARIN’s fundraising initiatives through proposal development and donor engagement.

Qualifications and Skills:

• PhD in Environmental Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Climate Science, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in climate change research and project management.
• Strong knowledge of climate finance mechanisms and international processes (e.g., UNFCCC, COP negotiations).
• Proficiency in economic modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and financial structuring for climate projects.
• Excellent skills in statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., R, Python, Stata).
• Familiarity with Kenya’s Climate Change Act (2016), Vision 2030, and global frameworks like the Paris Agreement and SDGs.
