Environment Specialist
Aisha holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering and has extensive training in project planning and management, resilience monitoring, and integrated pesticide management. She has been actively engaged in international development for a decade, as an Environment and Social Safeguards Expert.
She currently serves as a Teaching Associate at the Uganda Management Institute. From 2021 to 2024, Aisha wasthe Environment Specialist for USAID’s Feed the Future Inclusive Agricultural Markets Activity. Prior to this, she spent five years as an Environmental Services Consultant at JBN Consults and Planners, where she helped national agencies to attain safeguards compliance. Aisha is an active member of the Uganda Association for Impact Assessment (UAIA) and the Women in Climate Change (WICC) group in Uganda, demonstrating her commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and gender inclusivity in climate action.
Aisha’s professional expertise includes planning, management, and monitoring of environmental and social safeguards in development projects, with a particular focus on the infrastructure, agriculture, and water sectors. Her technical competencies include conducting environmental and social impact assessments, developing management frameworks, compliance monitoring and reporting, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and designing integrated management systems. A dedicated trainer in sustainable development, environmental management, and climate change, Aisha leverages her multidisciplinary expertise to foster capacity building and knowledge sharing.
Known for her strong analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills, Aisha is dedicated to creating solutions that enhance environmental sustainability and foster resilience to climate change in the Global South. Her work reflects a deep commitment to promoting equitable and sustainable development practices.
