Carine Adjassa is a specialist in renewable energies and environmental management, committed to sustainable development in Africa. Originally from Benin, she holds a professional degree in Renewable Energies and Energy Systems from the University of Abomey-Calavi and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Management at Senghor University in Egypt. Currently an intern at Africa Research and Impact Network.
Deeply attuned to energy issues, Carine wishes to play an active role in the development of the energy sector in Africa. She places great importance on preserving the environment, with a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, combating global warming, and protecting the ozone layer.
Passionate about hydroelectricity, Carine has developed a turbine technology to harness the DJONOU River in Benin to produce electricity. She designed a turbine based on the Archimedes screw principle, aiming to study this technology and exploit it on a large scale. Her goal is to increase electricity production in Benin and reduce energy insufficiency and inaccessibility.
In addition to her commitment to the energy sector, Carine is dedicated to issues relating to the protection and promotion of women’s rights. She is currently the President of the Women’s Energy Network in Benin, where she strives to mobilize young women in this sector to promote energy accessibility and female empowerment.
