David Ngira is a Regional Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Researcher at Amnesty International where he researches on economic and social rights violations in Eastern Africa and Great Lakes Region. In this context, he also researchers on the intersection between climate change and human rights violations. He has previously worked as a Regional Research and Training Manager at the Rift Valley Institute in Nairobi. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Rights Law from Utrecht University, a Master’s degree in International Development Law from Warwick University and a BA from Kenyatta University. Prior to joining the Civil Society, David taught Human rights and International Law at Mount Kenya University.
