Msc. in Geography, Planning, Environment and Development at University Paris 8 (2019), is a young researcher in natural hazards and environment, and practitioner of development. Jean-Robert is pursuing a PhD program at University Paris 8. His research project is entitled: “Rise of Flooding Risks and associated hydrological risks at the heart of urban planning challenges in Bukavu region (DR Congo): Between vulnerability factors and socio-spatial changes”. Jean-Robert has particular interests in the field of natural (geo) hazard, risk, disaster and the urban development in Africa. Holding a Bsc. in Geology, Jean-Robert NSHOKANO MWEZE is also interested in georesources management and geoethical issues. His commitment to community development is dedicated to creating massive awareness and promoting informative actions for people and engaging them in practice for better environment, risk culture and natural resource management through capacity building programs. Since 2021, Jean-Robert NSHOKANO MWEZE has initiated a nonprofit called CREI “Congo Restoration Earth Initiative” that is intending to promote green environment, urban planning, disaster management, sustainable development and to contribute to reduce population exposure to disaster, climate change in DR Congo and in Africa.
