Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Economics (Distinction) from the University of Mauritius and a Bachelors Degree in Economics (First Class Honours) from Kenyatta University in Kenya. I am currently pursuing my PhD at the University of Nairobi. He is a Senior Economist at the National Treasury, Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations Department. He joined the National Treasury in August 2013. At the National Treasury, he works mostly on policy formulation and policy analysis and formulation in Public Finance Management matters and issues related to Climate Finance, especially for the County Governments.He was recently engaged in developing the Green Fiscal Incentives Policy which is aimed at helping Kenya to achieve her Nationally Determined Contributions. He is liaison person in the department on all matters relating to climate Finance. He is currently supporting the county governments to move towards climate change action through the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Program (A World Bank Programme).
Prior to joining the National Treasury, he worked as a Credit Operations Officer at the NIC Bank in Kenya for one and a half years
